PRACTICAL DETAILS

Fees & Frequently Asked Questions

Beginning therapy should not require navigating a maze of unanswered questions. Below you will find information about fees, insurance, scheduling, and what to expect when we work together.

FEES

My fee for a standard individual session is $200.

Fees for consultations, extended sessions, evaluations, letters, and other professional services may vary depending on the nature and scope of the service. We will discuss any applicable fees in advance.

Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been met.

INSURANCE & REIMBURSEMENT

I participate with Excellus BCBS, MVP, Aetna, United, Carelon and Cigna.

For services that are not covered by insurance, or if I am not in-network with your provider, you may eligible to receive reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. I can provide a superbill containing the information typically required for you to submit a claim to your insurer.

Because plans vary considerable, I encourage you to contact your insurance company directly to ask about your behavioral health benefits, deductible, and reimbursement for out-of-network psychotherapy.

A limited number of sliding scale appointments are available.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. Psychotherapy appointments are available via secure telehealth for patients who are physically located in New York State. Consultation appointments are available via secure telehealth for anybody, anywhere.

Do you offer in-person appointments?

I offer very limited in-person appointments in my Rochester, NY office.

How often will we meet?

Many clients begin with weekly or bi-weekly appointments. Over time, the frequency of sessions may change depending on your needs, goals, and the nature of our work together.

How long will I be in therapy?

There is no predetermined timeline. Some people engage in this process to work through a particular transition or concern, while others choose a longer-term process of reflection and growth. We will periodically talk together about how the work is progressing and whether the pace continues to feel useful.

What is your cancellation policy?

I reserve appointment times specifically for each client. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged for the full session fee, except in circumstances outlined in my practice policies. Be aware that insurance will not cover missed appointment fees.
